Job description

Job Title: Commodity Buyer

Join to apply for the Commodity Buyer role at Primoris Services Corporation.

Responsibilities include:

1. Collaborate with manager to establish strategic direction and objectives.
2. Assist with supplier qualification, evaluation, and re-evaluation processes.
3. Assist with commercial negotiations.
4. Support the procurement team with developing appropriate sources of supply.
5. Initiate sourcing (price/availability) process by issuing RFQ’s.
6. Analyze quotes received and make recommendations for award.
7. Prepare and process purchase orders and change orders.
8. Maintain necessary data/records in the company's purchasing system.
9. Research and resolve accounts payable and receivable discrepancies.
10. Assist in procurement reporting, commodity performance metrics, and vendor scorecards.
11. Maintain cooperative relationships with suppliers to stay current with trends, technologies, products, and services.
12. Work closely with Expeditor to ensure suppliers meet contract schedule and delivery requirements.
13. Maintain key procurement documents to inform the Project Team of material constraints and risks.
14. Travel as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

Education & Experience Requirements:

• 2-year Degree in Business or Management or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of Purchasing/Buyer experience in Construction and/or Engineering.
• Preference for experience in Solar, Renewable Energy, or Power Generation.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

• Bilingual candidates preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Experience with Viewpoint software preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
