Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team for a construction project.

Department: Operations - focused on the Renewable Energy market, mainly solar (also wind and batteries/data).

Estimated duration of the position: 2 years. Generally, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to ensure continuity.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to align with project timelines and budgets.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with suppliers, vendors, and service providers.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and sustainability.
  • Coordinate with engineering, project management, and construction teams to define procurement needs and specifications.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, RFQs (Requests for Quotations), and RFPs (Requests for Proposals).
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure compliance with contract terms and project requirements.
  • Track and manage inventory levels, deliveries, and logistics to prevent project delays.
  • Resolve procurement-related issues, including delays, shortages, and quality concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and vendor performance.
  • Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and emerging suppliers in the renewable energy industry.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (1-hour break).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, including at least 2 years working on utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects of 80 MW or more within the United States.
  • Proficient in procurement platforms, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in negotiation, contract management, and cost analysis.
  • Preferred certifications include CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
  • Practical knowledge of renewable energy systems and industry-specific standards and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, import/export compliance, sustainable sourcing practices, and environmental regulatory requirements in industrial settings.
