Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 / year

Project Location: Remote

Travel: Frequent overnight travel (up to 50% of the time) by airplane or car is required.

Commissioning Project Manager- BS Engineering or Equivalent Technical Experience

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commissioning Project Manager Representative to join our team for complex commissioning projects.

A summary of the major tasks is listed below.

Holds primary responsibility for assigned projects involving commissioning of complex MEP and Building Envelope systems and equipment for healthcare and infrastructure projects. Primarily responsible for client satisfaction, project profitability and using resources efficiently. Must possess detailed understanding of third-party commissioning process and construction stakeholder relationships. Project manager shall have significant knowledge and experience in at least one technical discipline (mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, or electrical). Provides mentoring and training to less experienced colleagues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provides a high level of service and responsiveness toward clients and other project stakeholders

• Organizes, schedules, and attends meetings with contractors, clients, and/or the Commissioning team to schedule activities, discuss progress, and resolve issues as they arise

• When required, prepares preparatory commissioning plan documentation, which is made up of process descriptions, outlining roles and responsibilities, and creating pre-functional checklists and functional performance tests documentation

• Prepares or reviews technical documents such as commissioning specifications, systems manuals, and project site visit reports that document all commissioning activities, communicating technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Assists with preparation of proposals, estimating effort and costs, and marketing commissioning services to current and prospective clients

• Performs and reports on project job site visits to investigate field conditions, monitor progress, and ensure conformance to Construction Documents during construction

• Assists management in the training, mentoring, and evaluation of less experienced colleagues

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Commissioning Team members shall have knowledge of experience in building operations and maintenance

• Commissioning Team members shall have knowledge of basic controls strategies or sequences of operations

• Familiar with construction practices, materials, standards, and design requirements.

• Speech Clarity – ability to speak clearly and in a common language so that others can understand you

• Detail-Oriented – ability to achieve accuracy and thoroughness when accomplishing a task; pays attention to details and is able to understand the cause of a certain outcome

• Technical Writing Skills – skilled in the area of summarizing or explaining technical information in a clear, concise, and accurate way, communicating the point intended

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; equivalent direct technical experience in or knowledge of building systems will be considered

• Minimum five years of applicable experience in third-party building commissioning is required; senior level applicants (10-15+ years of experience) are also encouraged to apply

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) and Certified Commissioning Agent (CxA, CBCP, CCP, BCxP) preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequent overnight travel (up to 50% of the time) by airplane or car is required

• Requires travel to construction sites and for marketing-related trips; position is home-based when work travel is not required

• Requires versatility and the ability to pivot focus on activities required to make the business unit successful.
