The Opportunity
I am currently supporting a major data center developer who is looking for an experienced Commissioning & Reliability Manager to join a large-scale hyperscale project in Lubbock, Texas.
This position will play a key role in ensuring critical infrastructure is properly commissioned, tested, validated and transitioned into reliable operation.
The ideal candidate will have strong data center commissioning experience combined with a good understanding of reliability, operational readiness and critical infrastructure performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage commissioning activities across critical electrical, mechanical and controls systems.
- Drive commissioning readiness from construction through testing, IST and final turnover.
- Coordinate closely with construction, QA/QC, commissioning teams, vendors, contractors and client stakeholders.
- Review commissioning procedures, test scripts, checklists and turnover documentation.
- Track system readiness, deficiencies and commissioning issues through to resolution.
- Support startup, energisation, functional testing and integrated systems testing.
- Identify potential reliability risks and work with project teams to develop corrective actions.
- Ensure critical systems are tested and validated in accordance with project requirements and client standards.
- Support the transition from construction and commissioning into operational readiness.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure systems are capable of meeting reliability and performance
Key Requirements
- Strong commissioning management experience within hyperscale or large-scale data center projects.
- Experience across critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of commissioning, startup, IST and turnover processes.
- Experience identifying and resolving technical issues and commissioning deficiencies.
- Understanding of operational reliability and readiness within a critical facility environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction and commissioning environment.

Experience with critical data center infrastructure such as:
- UPS systems
- Generators
- Switchgear
- Transformers
- ATS / STS
- BMS / Controls
- CRAH / CRAC systems
- Chilled water systems
- Cooling infrastructure
- Critical power distribution
