Qualifications

• Solid understanding of commissioning, startup, IST and turnover processes.
• Experience identifying and resolving commissioning deficiencies.
• Understanding of operational reliability and readiness in critical facilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction and commissioning environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage commissioning activities across electrical, mechanical and controls systems.
• Drive commissioning readiness from construction through testing, IST and turnover.
• Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, commissioning teams, vendors and client stakeholders.
• Review procedures, test scripts, checklists and turnover docs.
• Track system readiness, deficiencies and issues to resolution.
• Support startup, energisation, functional and integrated systems testing.
• Identify reliability risks and develop corrective actions with project teams.
• Ensure systems are tested and validated per project requirements and client standards.
• Support transition from construction/commissioning into operational readiness.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure reliability and performance targets are met.

The Opportunity

I am currently supporting a major data center developer who is looking for an experienced Commissioning & Reliability Manager to join a large-scale hyperscale project in Lubbock, Texas.

This position will play a key role in ensuring critical infrastructure is properly commissioned, tested, validated and transitioned into reliable operation.

The ideal candidate will have strong data center commissioning experience combined with a good understanding of reliability, operational readiness and critical infrastructure performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage commissioning activities across critical electrical, mechanical and controls systems.
• Drive commissioning readiness from construction through testing, IST and final turnover.
• Coordinate closely with construction, QA/QC, commissioning teams, vendors, contractors and client stakeholders.
• Review commissioning procedures, test scripts, checklists and turnover documentation.
• Track system readiness, deficiencies and commissioning issues through to resolution.
• Support startup, energisation, functional testing and integrated systems testing.
• Identify potential reliability risks and work with project teams to develop corrective actions.
• Ensure critical systems are tested and validated in accordance with project requirements and client standards.
• Support the transition from construction and commissioning into operational readiness.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure systems are capable of meeting reliability and performance

Key Requirements

• Strong commissioning management experience within hyperscale or large-scale data center projects.
• Experience across critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
