Job summary

Verdical Group is seeking a Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning projects for sustainable buildings. The role emphasizes managing LEED, CALGreen, and Retro Cx initiatives while ensuring high-quality deliverables.

You will work in a remote home office setup with occasional site visits, collaborating with NASA, Google, LAX, and other corporate clients as part of a fast-paced sustainability team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of building commissioning, MEP design, or MEP construction management experience.
• Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and ability to run all aspects of a project.
• Strong data/information management and ability to translate findings into client deliverables.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to work independently or with others on tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead Commissioning (Cx) projects across LEED, CALGreen, and Retro Cx.
• Manage all aspects of Cx projects from kickoff to project completion.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality commissioning deliverables.

Salary Range: $90,000 – $109,000 annually

SITE ACCESS & MOBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation for frequent site visits.
• Ability to climb ladders, navigate scaffolding, work at heights, and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on active construction sites.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• The desire and ability to quickly learn and support a wide variety of green building commissioning services
• Minimum 3 years of building commissioning, MEP system design, or MEP construction management experience
• Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and capability to independently run all aspects of a project, from kickoff to completion
• Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite, document control, and ability to create polished deliverable reports
• Strong data/information management skills, including ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data, organize and correlate findings, and translate that information into client deliverables
• Good organizational skills, fastidious attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively while managing multiple deadlines
• Ability to perform all commissioning tasks, including execution of functional performance tests, commissioning site visits during construction, and all project management tasks without manager review

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NOT REQUIRED)

• Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or other commissioning credential
• Energy audit experience
• Energy modeling experience
• EIT or Professional Engineer (PE)
• OSHA 10-hour certification
