Job summary

Kansas Health System seeks a Commissioning Manager at Bell Hospital to oversee commissioning and recommissioning of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to meet hospital goals. Strong collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance and Construction teams is required.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Engineering/PM/Construction or related field (or an Associate's with a technical certification) and have 3+ years in building automation with MEP experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • OR Associate's Degree in related field with a technical certification (HVAC Operations, Boiler Operator, Control Specialist) from a regulatory or Engineering body.
  • 3+ years of experience with building automation systems, mechanical and electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the professional, clinical and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
  • Develop and implement commissioning protocols and standards for existing and new facilities, including MEP systems and control systems.
  • Coordinate plans with Engineering leadership and Maintenance/Construction teams.
  • Survey physical and digital systems to identify recommissioning priorities.
  • Collaborate with outside commissioning agents on large projects to develop and implement commissioning plans.
  • Communicate with team members, project consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure compliance with contract and project expectations.
  • Review project drawings and specifications for compliance with engineering intent and institutional goals; notify design team if documents deviate from objectives or standards.
  • Review documents for compliance with Hospital Facilities standards and site conditions.
  • Maintain quality control on department information, including system technical documents.

The Commissioning Manager is responsible for commissioning projects and recommissioning systems and sites to meet Hospital goals.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
  • Develop & implement commissioning protocols & standards for existing and new facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, and control systems.
  • Coordinate plans with Engineering leadership and relevant Maintenance and Construction teams.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction or in a related field of study from an accredited college or university.

  • Associates Degree in related field of study from an accredited college or university AND a technical certification (i.e., HVAC Operations, Boiler Operator, Control Specialist) from a regulatory or Engineering body.
  • 3 or more years of experience with building automation systems, mechanical and electrical equipment.
