Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a CX Project Manager to oversee commissioning programs for hyperscale and enterprise data center developments across North America. You will coordinate owners, GC’s, design teams, and operations to ensure safe, efficient project execution and on-time turnover.

This leadership role requires strong organizational skills, a solid technical understanding of mission-critical infrastructure, and the ability to manage complex programs with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of project management experience supporting commissioning, construction, mission-critical infrastructure, or large-scale commercial projects.
  • Experience managing commissioning activities for data center construction projects (hyperscale experience preferred).
  • Experience with scheduling software and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commissioning programs across multiple concurrent hyperscale and enterprise data center projects from pre-construction through final client turnover.
  • Develop and update commissioning schedules aligned with construction milestones.
  • Coordinate commissioning engineers, subcontractors, equipment manufacturers, and external partners to maintain timelines.
  • Serve as the primary client-facing representative, leading owner meetings and status reporting.
  • Track milestones, risks, and issue resolution, communicating status to leadership and clients.
  • Coordinate activities across electrical, mechanical, controls, and integrated systems disciplines.
  • Oversee documentation including schedules, issue logs, turnover packages, and closeout docs.
  • Drive project accountability while maintaining quality standards and milestones.
  • Identify risks early and develop mitigation strategies to minimize schedule impacts.
  • Support business development by maintaining client relationships and identifying opportunities.

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, TX (Travel up to 50%)

Compensation: $130,000 – $170,000 Base Salary + Comprehensive Benefits

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced CX Project Manager to oversee commissioning programs supporting hyperscale and enterprise data center developments across North America. This individual will serve as the primary point of coordination between owners, general contractors, design teams, commissioning engineers, subcontractors, and operations personnel to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.

The successful candidate will manage multiple commissioning programs simultaneously while driving project schedules, resource planning, risk mitigation, issue resolution, client communication, and final facility turnover. This is a leadership role requiring exceptional organizational skills, technical understanding of mission-critical infrastructure, and the ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage commissioning programs across multiple concurrent hyperscale and enterprise data center projects from pre-construction through final client turnover.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously update commissioning schedules while ensuring alignment with overall construction milestones and project deliverables.
  • Coordinate commissioning engineers, specialty subcontractors, equipment manufacturers, and external consulting partners to maintain project execution timelines.
  • Serve as the primary client-facing representative throughout commissioning activities, leading owner meetings, progress reviews, and executive-level status reporting.
  • Track commissioning milestones, critical path activities, risks, and issue resolution while proactively communicating project status to internal leadership and clients.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities across electrical, mechanical, controls, and integrated systems disciplines.
  • Ensure successful execution of Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning activities, Functional Performance Testing (FPT), Integrated Systems Testing (IST), Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and final operational readiness.
  • Oversee commissioning documentation including schedules, issue logs, commissioning reports, turnover packages, and closeout documentation.
  • Facilitate collaboration between owners, architects, engineers, contractors, controls vendors, equipment manufacturers, and facility operations teams.
  • Drive project accountability while maintaining commissioning quality standards, client expectations, and contractual milestones.
  • Identify project risks early and develop mitigation strategies to minimize schedule impacts and maintain successful project execution.
  • Support business development efforts by maintaining strong client relationships and identifying future project opportunities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of project management experience supporting commissioning, construction, mission-critical infrastructure, or large-scale commercial projects.
  • Previous experience managing commissioning activities for data center construction projects (hyperscale experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of commissioning processes, construction sequencing, and turnover requirements.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects while balancing competing priorities and aggressive schedules.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering, construction, and commissioning teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, presentation, and client relationship management skills.
  • Experience developing and managing project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent scheduling software.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% based on project assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Level 1–5 Commissioning methodologies.
  • Experience overseeing Integrated Systems Testing (IST), Functional Performance Testing (FPT), Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
  • Understanding of electrical, mechanical, controls, and building automation systems supporting mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience with commissioning management platforms and project controls software.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA), CCP, or similar commissioning certification.
