Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Commissioning Intern to support our Business Practices Consulting group from the Houston, TX office. You will collaborate with offices globally while gaining hands-on experience in commissioning planning, testing, and data collection for industrial projects.

Ideal candidates are currently pursuing an engineering degree with a strong academic record and a willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, computer, mechanical, chemical, or process engineering.
• Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Interest in commissioning and project execution in industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Support commissioning planning and setup activities.
• Provide technical support for testing and data collection during pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Assist in technology development initiatives and commissioning software investigations.
• Support initiatives to improve the efficiency of the commissioning process.
• Assist in the development of test plans and commissioning procedures.

Hatch is seeking a Commissioning Intern. Reporting to the Business Practices Consulting group, you will support offices globally working from our Houston, TX office location.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, computer, mechanical, chemical, or process engineering


• Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

As The Successful Candidate, You Will

• Support commissioning planning and setup activities


• Provide technical support for testing and data collection during the pre-commissioning and commissioning phase of the project


• Assist in technology development initiatives in the group including investigating alternate and supporting commissioning software


• Support technology initiatives to improve the efficiency of the commissioning process and a different perspective on approaches to execution


• Assist in the development of test plans and commissioning procedures


• Participate in field testing and troubleshoot/optimize equipment that is not performing


• Process the test results, data collection, progress measurement and documentation of results


• Support development of commissioning estimates, budgets, forecasts, schedules, commissioning proposals and presentations


• Coordinate with construction planning team to align commissioning systems are coordinated with construction work packages, engineering and procurement


• Review P&IDs, Flow Diagrams, Single Line Diagram, Network Architecture Drawings and engineering registers to prepare an execution plan and estimate to execute pre-commissioning and commissioning services and identify opportunities for project acceleration


• Assist in establishing the commissioning requirements for pre-fabrication and modularization

You Bring To The Role

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications


• Experience using Visio or similar tools to communicate commissioning sequence, organizational charts and workflow processes is an asset


• Effective report writing skills, planning and organizational skills


• Willingness to travel to various Hatch offices, project, and supplier sites subject to project requirements


• Previous co-op or internship experience in project execution, commissioning, or construction on industrial projects is considered an asset
