Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing is seeking a seasoned Commissioning Engineer to lead final testing, startup, and commissioning of LV/MV electrical distribution equipment in field and manufacturing settings.

You will assess complex electrical systems, review documentation, and coordinate with project teams; extensive travel may be required while ensuring safety and compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, and NETA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of relevant electrical experience with HS diploma or GED, OR 8+ years with associate/bachelor’s degree and 5+ years experience.
• Valid/active U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Assists more experienced Commissioning specialists coordinating and reviewing electrical deliverables.
• Prepares and reviews simple electrical sketches, CX plans, and data sheets.
• Performs simple routine electrical calculations.
• Assists in review of supplier documentation for compliance with specifications.
• Uses the electrical engineering web site to access department guides and standards.

Job description

Overview

The Commissioning Engineer team is responsible for performing final testing, startup, and commissioning of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment, including breakers, transformers, switches, switchgear, relays, and motor control centers, as well as other electrical apparatus both in the field and in a manufacturing environment. An understanding of sophisticated electrical distribution systems of complex electrical test equipment is required. You will contribute to a safe working environment for co-workers and customers and help ensure the overall success of projects. Local, regional, and national travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Applicants selected must have minimum 10+ years of relevant electrical experience with HS diploma or GED OR 8+ years of relevant electrical experience with associate degree or bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant electrical experience
• Possess a valid/active U.S. Work Authorization

Candidate Expectations

• Electronics Installation and/or Maintenance on Multiple Systems.
• Using trade drawings e.g.: architectural, electrical, mechanical and civil to identify potential design and installation problems.
• Knowledge of industry standards including sections of NETA ATS/MTS, NEC, NFPA 70E, etc.

Desired / Advantageous Qualifications

• OEM certified field service training program.
• Certifications (desired/advantageous): NETA level III, or IV preferred

Pay Range
