Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to perform final testing, startup, and commissioning of electrical distribution equipment in field and manufacturing environments. Travel locally, regionally, and nationally as needed to support projects.

You will review electrical deliverables, prepare simple sketches and data sheets, and assist with basic calculations while following established standards. A background with 10+ years of electrical experience and U.S. work eligibility is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical experience with HS diploma or GED, or 8+ years with an associate/bachelor’s degree and 5+ years experience.
• Must have valid/active U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and review electrical deliverables with experienced staff.
• Prepare and review simple electrical sketches, CX plans, and data sheets.
• Perform basic electrical calculations.
• Review supplier documentation for specifications compliance.
• Access department guides and standards via the electrical engineering site.

Overview

The Commissioning Engineer team is responsible for performing final testing, startup, and commissioning of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment, including breakers, transformers, switches, switchgear, relays, and motor control centers, as well as other electrical apparatus both in the field and in a manufacturing environment. An understanding of sophisticated electrical distribution systems of complex electrical test equipment is required. You will contribute to a safe working environment for co-workers and customers and help ensure the overall success of projects. Local, regional, and national travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assists more experienced Commissioning specialist coordinating, and reviewing electrical deliverables
• Prepares and reviews simple electrical sketches, CX plans, and data sheets
• Performs simple routine electrical calculations
• Assists in review of supplier documentation for compliance with specifications
• Uses the electrical engineering web site to access department guides and standards

Qualifications

• Applicants selected must have minimum 10+ years of relevant electrical experience with HS diploma or GED OR 8+ years of relevant electrical experience with associate degree or bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant electrical experience
• Possess a valid/active U.S. Work Authorization

Candidate Expectations:

• Electronics Installation and/or Maintenance on Multiple Systems.
• Using trade drawings e.g.: architectural, electrical, mechanical and civil to identify potential design and installation problems.
• Knowledge of industry standards including sections of NETA ATS/MTS, NEC, NFPA 70E, etc.

Desired / Advantageous Qualifications

• OEM certified field service training program.
• Certifications (desired/advantageous): NETA level III, or IV preferred

Pay Range

USD $45.11 - USD $67.67 /Hr.
