Job summary

Job description

The Commissioning Engineer team is responsible for performing final testing, startup, and commissioning of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment, including breakers, transformers, switches, switchgear, relays, and motor control centers, as well as other electrical apparatus in both the field and a manufacturing environment. An understanding of sophisticated electrical distribution systems and complex electrical test equipment is required. You will contribute to a safe working environment for co‑workers and customers and help ensure the overall success of projects. Local, regional, and national travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assists more experienced Commissioning specialist coordinating, and reviewing electrical deliverables
• Prepares and reviews simple electrical sketches, CX plans, and data sheets
• Performs simple routine electrical calculations
• Assists in review of supplier documentation for compliance with specifications
• Uses the electrical engineering website to access department guides and standards

Qualifications

• Applicants selected must have minimum 10+ years of relevant electrical experience with HS diploma or GED OR 8+ years of relevant electrical experience with associate degree or bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant electrical experience
• Possess a valid/active U.S. Work Authorization

Candidate Expectations

• Electronics Installation and/or Maintenance on Multiple Systems.
• Using trade drawings e.g.: architectural, electrical, mechanical and civil to identify potential design and installation problems.
• Knowledge of industry standards including sections of NETA ATS/MTS, NEC, NFPA 70E, etc.

Desired / Advantageous Qualifications

• OEM certified field service training program.
• Certifications (desired/advantageous): NETA level III, or IV preferred
