Job summary

ON.energy is seeking a Commissioning Engineer (Field Engineer / Systems Integrator) to execute system-level commissioning, lead small on-site teams, and drive project milestones across mission-critical power deployments. You will work on medium-voltage UPS/BESS equipment, report to a Senior Commissioning Engineer, and operate autonomously on-site with safety and quality in mind.

Qualifications

3–6 years hands-on commissioning experience on BESS, solar + storage, or utility-scale projects.
Direct experience with battery storage systems including BMS, PCS/inverter, and EMS/SCADA commissioning.
Ability to read electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and P&IDs; knowledge of protection relay testing.
Travel >80% and valid driver’s license and US passport.

Responsibilities

Execute system-level commissioning tests including functionality checks, network verification, and performance validation for data center, utility-scale, and BESS projects.
Lead small on-site teams to drive project milestones and coordinate with EPC/OEM teams.
Perform testing of inverters, PCS, BMS, EMS/SCADA, protection relays, and related BOS equipment.
Identify, document, and resolve commissioning deficiencies; manage punch lists through to closeout.
Document results and maintain audit-ready commissioning records for all activities.
Support FAT validation and SAT, and assist with closeout of commissioning milestones.
