Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. is seeking a Commissioning Engineer in Training I to support commissioning plans from construction documents and assist project managers with data input and test procedures.

You will read blueprints, perform site visits, and learn Cx policies while attending in-house training to become a certified commissioning provider. This role emphasizes collaboration, ethics, and technical growth within a leading engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies.
• Knowledge of industry software (Revit and AutoCAD).
• Plan to study and pass FE exam within first year.

Responsibilities

• Prepares commissioning plans from construction documents and training matrices.
• Assists with data input for Cx checklists and writes test procedures.
• Reads blueprints and technical drawings; interprets shop drawings.
• Conducts site visits to observe conformance to design specs and owner expectations.
• Participates in training to become a certified commissioning provider.
• Develops technical documentation, proposals, and presentations for the project team.
• Performs duties ethically and in line with engineering standards.
