Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join our Commissioning team in Houston, focusing on Metals projects. You will lead the Commissioning Team(s) on client sites, coordinate with engineering and construction for an optimal handover, and drive QA across all commissioning activities.

The role requires a Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent and at least 5 years of supervising commissioning personnel on new electrical facilities, with broad knowledge of mechanical, instrumentation, piping

Responsibilities

• Lead project Commissioning Team(s) as assigned during planning and on client sites, including recruitment, mobilisation, training, supervision and de-mobilisation of personnel and vendors.
• Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure efficient handover and an optimal commissioning schedule; ensure design includes testing requirements.
• Ensure quality assurance and control of all commissioning deliverables and activities; identify resource needs and support training and recruitment of commissioning personnel.

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Be responsible for and lead project Commissioning Team(s) as assigned by the Commissioning Manager in Hatch offices during planning and on client sites during execution. This responsibility includes supporting recruitment, mobilisation, training, supervision and de-mobilisation of personnel including vendors and technical specialists
• Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure efficient plant handover to commissioning and achieving an optimal commissioning schedule. This includes ensuring testing requirements are included in the design (for example bypass lines, temporary power and water, module isolation valves) and where possible construction programs are aligned with the optimal commissioning sequence
• Be responsible for the quality assurance and control of all project commissioning deliverables and activities on a projectBe responsible for early identification of commissioning resource requirements and assisting Hatch train, develop and recruit high quality commissioning personnel.
  

You will bring to the role:

• Relevant Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent experience
• Commissioning Engineer must have at least 5 years specific experience in the supervision of specialized commissioning personnel on new electrical facilities
• A broad knowledge of installation, functional testing, and operation of Mechanical, Instrumentation, Piping and Electrical Systems utilized for various processes. As a Commissioning Engineer, it is critical to be able to direct multi-discipline teams and to see the entire picture of the operating plant.Knowledge, skills and ability to manage a diverse group of technical, project and operating personnel
• Significant technical background in energy, mining and / or mineral processing.
  
• Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions
