The Superior Group is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support field and project operations from a Detroit, Michigan job site. The role focuses on commissioning planning, energization procedures, LOTO coordination, and ensuring safe, efficient energization of electrical building systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in the design, construction, and installation of electrical building systems.
• Experience in quality control, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of medium and low voltage power distribution, including switchgear, UPS, generators, and redundant power systems.
• Experience with NFPA, NEC, NFPA 70E and related codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop energization and electrical performance methods and procedures (MOPs).
• Support LOTO planning and energized work coordination.
• Lead portions of pre-energization readiness reviews.
• Identify and communicate risks related to startup and system integration.
• Track commissioning progress and support issue resolution.

Reports to: Commissioning Engineering Manager

Location: Detroit, Michigan

Salary Range: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour (Eligible for Overtime)

Superior is looking for a Commissioning Engineer who will support the Field and Project Operations teams through commissioning planning and execution.The Commissioning Engineer focuses on developing and reviewing methods of procedure (MOPs), supporting lockout/tagout (LOTO) planning, and ensuring systems are prepared for safe and efficient energization. The position is based on a job site in Detroit, Michigan.

Key Responsibilities
