Job summary

Superior is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support Field and Project Operations through commissioning planning and execution at a Detroit, Michigan site. You will develop MOPs, assist LOTO planning, and ensure safe energization of electrical building systems.

This full-time role requires hands-on experience with medium and low voltage power distribution, NFPA/NEC codes, and collaboration with owners, contractors, and testing partners to drive risk-aware startup and seamless system

Qualifications

• Experience in the design, construction, and installation of electrical building systems.
• Experience with quality control, testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of medium and low voltage power distribution, including switchgear, UPS, generators and redundant power systems.
• Familiar with NFPA, NEC, NFPA 70E and applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop energization and electrical performance methods and procedures (MOPs).
• Support LOTO planning and energized work coordination.
• Lead portions of pre-energization readiness reviews.
• Identify and communicate risks related to startup and system integration.
• Track commissioning progress and support issue resolution.
• Support quality assurance and commissioning efforts at project sites.
• Collaborate with manufacturers, distributors, and testing partners.
• Interface with owners, construction managers, and project stakeholders to address technical questions and remediate issues.

Salary Range: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour (Eligible for Overtime)

Superior is looking for a Commissioning Engineer who will support the Field and Project Operations teams through commissioning planning and execution.The Commissioning Engineer focuses on developing and reviewing methods of procedure (MOPs), supporting lockout/tagout (LOTO) planning, and ensuring systems are prepared for safe and efficient energization. The position is based on a job site in Detroit, Michigan.
