Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Commissioning Engineer in Columbia, MD, to lead testing and commissioning of facilities. The role requires strong client-facing skills, extensive testing experience, and knowledge of BAS/BMS controls systems.

You will work on mid- to large-scale projects, delivering high-quality results on time and within budget. With 5+ years in commissioning and energy-related work, you will guide project teams, perform performance testing, and contribute to energy efficiency initiatives

Qualifications

Commissioning Engineer (M.E./E.E.) – Energy/AEC Consulting Firm

We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer with over 5 years of experience in commissioning and retro-commissioning new and existing facilities. The candidate should be comfortable meeting with clients and contractors, possess strong technical skills, and be able to perform equipment performance testing. Experience in BAS/BMS/control systems testing and integration is considered an advantage. Projects include mid-size to large commercial projects such as new buildings and existing facility upgrades.

• Bachelors or Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
• 5+ years Commissioning / Energy-related experience
• Working knowledge of mechanical/HVAC Systems, BAS, and Controls Systems
• Certifications Desired, EIT, PE, CEM, CCP, CPMP, BEAP, LEED AP is highly preferred, Not Required
• Lead and execute commissioning projects from beginning to close-out.
• Lead and execute condition assessments and energy audits for existing facilities.
• Support the development of innovative energy concepts for new and existing buildings.
• Provide project management and coordination on small- and medium-sized projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget, and schedule.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and other project team members.
• Produce summary reports and presentations and deliver them to clients, multidisciplinary project teams, and other relevant parties.
• Support business development activities including networking at industry events, developing, and maintaining client relationships, and preparation of proposals.
