Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) seeks a Commissioning Agent in our West Palm Beach office to deliver energy-efficient building solutions and advance sustainable environments for our clients.

You will develop and implement commissioning plans from OPR, BOD, and project drawings, resolve challenges, and collaborate with owners, partners, and design teams to ensure code-compliant, high-performance systems across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Technical or Associate Degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or architectural design, or commensurate experience.
• General understanding of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing/piping.
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret codes, guidelines and standards related to commissioning, design and construction.
• Experience in computer operation and ability to learn engineering calculation programs, CAD/BIM software for accessing design requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and state-required vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commissioning process delivery plans from OPR, BOD, and project documents.
• Resolve commissioning challenges on assigned projects and ensure timely delivery.
• Review Owner’s Project Requirements, Basis of Design, and construction documents for compliance.
• Collaborate with owners, project partners and design teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Apply safety training to construction situations and use test/measurement equipment appropriately.

As a Commissioning Agent in our West Palm Beach office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

Why We Need You:

In this role, you will be responsible for resolving commissioning challenges and completing tasks assigned, including developing and implementing commissioning process delivery plans from information set forth in Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), plans and specification construction documents, as well as information gathered from users, project partners, field surveys, and code research.

Expertise of our most successful Commissioning Agent:

• Technical or Associate Degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or architectural design, or construction engineering from an accredited technical institution or college; or commensurate design or construction experience.
• General understanding of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing/piping.
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret codes, guidelines and standards related to commissioning, design and construction.
• Experience in computer operation and ability to learn engineering calculation programs, computer-aided drafting/BIM software for the purpose accessing and interpreting design requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and state required vehicle insurance.
