Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is seeking a Commissioning Agent in Gainesville, FL to resolve commissioning challenges and deliver comprehensive commissioning plans.

The role requires knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related building systems, plus strong collaboration with clients and project partners. The ideal candidate will hold a technical or associate degree in a relevant field, with experience in codes, design, and construction, and proficiency in CAD/BIM software and

Qualifications

• Technical or Associate Degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or architectural design, or construction engineering.
• Knowledge of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing/piping.
• Ability to interpret codes, guidelines and standards related to commissioning, design and construction.
• Experience with CAD/BIM software and engineering calculation programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commissioning process delivery plans from OPR/BOD and construction documents.
• Resolve commissioning challenges and support project teams.
• Gather information from users, project partners, field surveys and code research to inform commissioning.

As a Commissioning Agent in our Gainesville office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

Why We Need You:

In this role, you will be responsible for resolving commissioning challenges and completing tasks assigned, including developing and implementing commissioning process delivery plans from information set forth in Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), plans and specification construction documents, as well as information gathered from users, project partners, field surveys, and code research.

Expertise of our most successful Commissioning Agent:

• Technical or Associate Degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or architectural design, or construction engineering from an accredited technical institution or college; or commensurate design or construction experience.
• General understanding of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing/piping.
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret codes, guidelines and standards related to commissioning, design and construction.
• Experience in computer operation and ability to learn engineering calculation programs, computer-aided drafting/BIM software for the purpose accessing and interpreting design requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and state required vehicle insurance.
