Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is seeking a Commissioning Agent for our Tallahassee office. You will resolve commissioning challenges and develop delivery plans based on OPR, BOD, plans, and field data, while coordinating with project partners and users.

You will apply knowledge of building systems and codes to ensure energy-efficient solutions, safety, and quality. A strong team orientation and clear communication are essential for client success and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Technical or Associate Degree in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, or architectural design, or construction engineering, or commensurate design/construction experience.
• Strong understanding of building systems incl. fire protection, HVAC, electrical and plumbing/piping.
• Experience with codes, guidelines, and standards related to commissioning, design and construction.
• Experience with engineering calculation programs and CAD/BIM software to access and interpret design requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Resolve commissioning challenges and implement commissioning process delivery plans from OPR, BOD, and construction documents.
• Coordinate information from users, project partners, field surveys, and code research to inform commissioning.
• Collaborate with clients and project teams to ensure energy-efficient building solutions.

As a Commissioning Agent in our Tallahassee office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

Why We Need You:

In this role, you will be responsible for resolving commissioning challenges and completing tasks assigned, including developing and implementing commissioning process delivery plans from information set forth in Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), plans and specification construction documents, as well as information gathered from users, project partners, field surveys, and code research.

Expertise of our most successful Commissioning Agent:

• Technical or Associate Degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or architectural design, or construction engineering from an accredited technical institution or college; or commensurate design or construction experience.
• General understanding of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing/piping.
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret codes, guidelines and standards related to commissioning, design and construction.
• Experience in computer operation and ability to learn engineering calculation programs, computer-aided drafting/BIM software for the purpose accessing and interpreting design requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and state required vehicle insurance.
