Job summary

Diamond Peak Recruiting is seeking a proactive Project Engineer to support commercial tenant improvement (TI) projects in Phoenix, AZ. The role covers preconstruction through closeout, with emphasis on organization, proactive communication, and growth toward a Project Manager position.

You will coordinate across architects, engineers, and clients, manage RFIs, submittals, and schedules, and help monitor budgets and milestones in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent construction experience).
• 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably with tenant improvement projects.
• Working knowledge of construction documents, contracts, and project administration.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar construction management software.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in the planning, execution, and completion of commercial TI projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and document control.
• Assist with project scheduling and monitor progress against milestones.
• Track project budgets, change orders, purchase orders, and cost reports.
• Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action items.
• Perform site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, and safety compliance.
• Assist with project closeout, including punch lists, as-built documentation, warranties, and final turnover packages.
