Role Description

The Commercial Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Macomb, MI, responsible for overseeing daily construction activities on commercial projects. This position coordinates subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and according to design specifications and quality standards. The superintendent manages site logistics, conducts regular inspections, monitors progress, and resolves field issues in real time. They maintain clear communication with project managers, architects, and owners, provide daily reports, and support accurate documentation of schedules, changes, and inspections. The role also includes enforcing safety protocols, supporting compliance with local codes and regulations, and fostering a productive, respectful jobsite culture.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing commercial construction projects, including site supervision, scheduling, and coordination of trades.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety standards, and quality control practices.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Proficiency with construction management tools and software for scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
• Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to direct field teams and collaborate with project stakeholders.
