Job summary

Brighton-based General Contractor in Brighton, MI is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial construction projects. You will coordinate, supervise, and monitor field activities, ensuring schedule adherence and on-time delivery.

The role requires 3+ years of superintendent experience, OSHA 30, and a valid license. Proficiency in MS Project and Microsoft Teams is preferred. Compensation includes salary 110k–120k, vehicle allowance, health insurance, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of superintendent experience with a commercial contractor.
• Experience coordinating scheduling, field supervision, quality control, and production across all phases of commercial construction.
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Valid driver's license.
• College degree in construction management or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, supervise, and monitor all field construction activities.
• Collaborate with project team members, including engineers, architects, third-party consultants, and subcontractors.
• Identify and propose or implement solutions to project issues with the Senior Superintendent and Project Manager.
• Review and maintain current project plans and on-site documents.
• Schedule day-to-day field activities to meet scheduling objectives.
• Maintain the construction schedule and update the 3-Week Look-Ahead Schedule.
• Direct subcontractors to meet schedule, quality, and safety expectations.
• Assist Project Managers in final selection of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Coordinate inspections with municipal officials and third-party agencies.
• Support jobsite safety through clear expectations and enforcement.
• Document daily progress and issues using Microsoft Teams.
• Attend company and industry events and contribute to company culture.

We are working with a well-established design-build general contractor based in Brighton, Michigan to find a Superintendent to lead field operations on their commercial construction projects. What You'll Do

• Coordinate, supervise, and monitor all field construction activities

• Review and maintain a working understanding of project plans and specifications, ensuring current documents are in use on-site
• Schedule day-to-day field activities to meet overall project scheduling objectives
• Maintain the construction schedule and continuously update the 3-Week Look-Ahead Schedule
• Direct subcontractors to meet schedule, quality, and safety expectations
• Assist Project Managers in the final selection of subcontractors and suppliers
• Coordinate inspections with municipal officials and third-party agencies
• Support jobsite safety through consistent expectations and enforcement
• Document daily progress, issues, and as-built conditions using Microsoft Teams
• Attend company and industry events, including meetings, trainings, and workshops
• Promote and contribute to maintaining company culture

What You'll Bring

• 3 or more years of successful Superintendent experience with a reputable commercial contractor
• Experience in scheduling, field supervision, quality control, and production across all phases of commercial construction
• Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in MS Project for scheduling
• Comfort using Microsoft Teams as a primary platform for field documentation, daily reports, and coordination
• OSHA 30 certification required
• Valid driver's license
• College degree in construction management or a related field preferred but not required
