Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar field leadership role.
• Proven experience managing commercial and/or multifamily construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and construction drawings.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction-site safety practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and multiple trades to meet plans and schedules.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, identifying delays and taking corrective actions.
• Conduct regular site inspections for quality and code compliance.
• Enforce safety policies and OSHA requirements, including safety meetings.
• Coordinate inspections, deliveries, site logistics, and communication among field team and stakeholders.
• Review drawings and specs to resolve field conflicts.
• Document progress with daily reports and updates.

Job description

Our client is a privately owned Construction Firm with 60 years of experience with a portfolio that includes Affordable Housing, Academics, Municipal and Private Development. They are seeking Superintendent & Senior Superintendents that will oversee the day-to-day operations of commercial and multi-family construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities include coordinating subcontractors and vendors, managing site logistics and schedules, conducting inspections, enforcing safety protocols, resolving field issues, and maintaining strong communication with Project Managers, owners, architects, and trade partners. The ideal candidate has proven experience managing commercial and/or multi-family construction projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily on-site construction activities for commercial and multifamily projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and multiple trades to ensure work is completed according to project plans and schedules.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules while identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality, workmanship, and compliance with plans, specifications, and building codes.
• Enforce site safety policies and OSHA requirements, including conducting safety meetings and addressing unsafe conditions.
• Coordinate inspections, deliveries, site logistics, and communication between the field team, project management, architects, engineers, and owners.
• Review construction documents, drawings, and specifications and identify and resolve field conflicts or construction issues.
• Track project progress, maintain daily reports, document site conditions, and communicate project updates to the project management team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar field leadership role.
• Proven experience managing commercial and/or multifamily construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, sequencing, and building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and construction drawings.
• Strong subcontractor management and coordination skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction-site safety practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively lead field personnel in a fast-paced construction environment.

Preferred: OSHA 30 certification and experience with construction management/scheduling software such as Procore, Autodesk, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
