Job summary

Corvant is seeking a Commercial Sheet Metal Superintendent I to oversee multi-site HVAC projects in the United States. You will supervise crews, ensure safety, and coordinate with general contractors to meet installation schedules and quality standards.

The role requires extensive travel, OSHA 30 certification, and 10+ years in commercial sheet metal, including 5+ in supervision. A bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; valid I‑9 eligibility is assumed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years total commercial sheet metal experience, 5+ in supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, HVAC systems, project schedules, submittals and job specifications.
• Open availability to travel, work after hours, and work overtime.
• Must demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of air duct distribution systems, commercial and industrial.
• Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for installation/maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and schedule installation of HVAC material and equipment.
• Coordinate with General Contractors on installation dates and progress.
• Coordinate HVAC material and equipment needs with purchasing; track deliveries.
• Coordinate delivery of material to the job site and verify equipment lists.
• Attend GC meetings and maintain communication with trade partners.
• Direct quality control inspections and safety meetings; document results.
• Oversee subcontractors and ensure work meets contract and company requirements.

Position Overview

Commercial Sheet Metal Superintendent I responsible for maintaining an open, positive, and professional line of communication with customers, vendors, general contractors, internal customers, and trade partners. The Sheet Metal Superintendent supervises employees and maintains a safe working environment compliant with government regulatory guidelines and OSHA safety regulations on multiple projects simultaneously. This position requires travel.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure work site is compliant with OSHA regulations and Corvant safety protocols.
• Manage and schedule installation of HVAC material and equipment.
• Maintain consistent contact and coordination with General Contractors to be aware at all times of expected installation dates.
• Request and coordinate HVAC material and equipment needs with purchasing department.
• Coordinate delivery of material and equipment to the job site.
• Check options and equipment list to ensure material is correct.
• Keep project status up to date to ensure timely delivery.
• Lay out crews to install material on scheduled dates.
• Attend and participate in GC meetings.
• Conduct weekly inspections, and safety meetings. Provide copies of signed safety forms to General Contractor and RBS safety team.
• Walk job constantly to follow‑up with Foreman and installers.
• Schedule and direct quality control technician daily, communicate with technician constantly to maintain schedule.
• Identify problems that need to be corrected and conduct quality control inspections personally.
• Follow‑up on all purchase orders and/or extra work. Track deliveries and materials on site.
• Maintain open and positive communication with Trade Partners.
• Manage subcontractors, ensure work done meets contract and company requirements.
• Keep up to date with all RBS policy and procedures, industry standards and government regulations.
• Available via telephone after hours and on weekends for emergency and/or customer‑related issues.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience running commercial or healthcare projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, HVAC systems, project schedules, submittals and job specifications.
• Open availability to travel, work after hours, and work overtime.
• Must demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of air duct distribution systems, commercial and industrial. Know relevant building codes, current legislation, regulations, policies and procedures for the installation and maintenance of systems.
• Must have a clean driving record, reliable transportation, and the ability to maintain required insurance coverage.
• Installation of HVAC materials, equipment, and appropriately matched systems.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other trades.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to complete Form I‑9 upon hire.

• Must be able to travel to multiple construction sites within the U.S. and present acceptable identification for security or travel purposes.
• Reliable transportation and ability to meet job‑site access requirements.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• 10 plus years total commercial sheet metal experience, 5+ in supervisory role.
