Job summary

Tech Systems, Inc. in Pleasanton, CA is seeking a Field Service Technician to repair, maintain, and install security systems including access control, video, intrusion, and intercom systems.

You will respond to service calls, install per standards, read blueprints, and coordinate with customers to resolve issues. The role requires at least two years in commercial security systems, networking knowledge, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years experience in commercial security systems installation or service.
• Networking skills and 1 year experience programming access and video systems.
• Factory and/or internal security system certifications to work independently.
• Basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook; Smartsheet; IP systems.
• Excellent customer service skills with sense of urgency.
• Strong time management and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls within guaranteed response times to restore full functionality.
• Properly install systems according to Tech Systems Installation Standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures in all tasks.
• Identify revisions, upgrades, and perform independent installs.
• Communicate with Customer Service regarding status and updates; update tickets.
• Accurately account for company inventory and resources.
• Perform system Preventive Maintenance inspections per policy.
• Assist with other technical support issues as needed.
• Attend to additional duties as assigned by Regional Manager or executives.
