Job Description

Our customer is looking to add a commercial install technician to their team as they continue to grow their footprint in MD.

The technician will receive their service call schedule a week in advance and typically handles an average of 4 tickets per day. Calls vary in duration, from an hour to multiple days. The technician will be provided with a company vehicle.

Required experience includes installing various security equipment such as Alarm.com, DMP, DSC (832, 1832, Alexor Panel, Impassa, Neo, Qolsys Panel), Bosch Keypad (B930), Honeywell, Concord, Vista, and others. Experience with motion sensors, door locks, glass break detectors, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors is also necessary. Fire system experience with Silent Knight (6808, 6820) and Potter AFC (1000, 100, IPA 60, IPA 100, IPA 4000V) is a plus but not mandatory, as training can be provided.

Knowledge of how these systems operate, are configured, and familiarity with Alarm.com and similar platforms are essential.

Responsibilities

• Install electronic security, fire, access control, CCTV systems, and related products.
• Install system components, hardware, firmware, and software.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with CCTV, access control, cabling, alarm systems, Honeywell, Alarm.com, DMP, DSC, low voltage wiring, Cat5, Cat6, electrical work, and fire alarms.
• Customer service orientation, troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with ticketing systems.
• Low voltage cabling experience, ability to work in new construction and occupied commercial buildings, and effective schedule management.
• Ability to interpret architectural and security system drawings, including symbols, code tables, riser diagrams, and panel designs.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 75 pounds.
• Work on ladders and lifts, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
• Work in confined spaces and at heights.

Additional Details

Position level: Intermediate. Pay range: $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Fully onsite in Columbia, MD. Application deadline: May 19, 2025.
