Job description

Role Summary

The Electrify Commercial – Commercial Networks team brings Electrify America’s ultra-fast charging expertise to third parties who seek to own and operate their own networks. Specific priorities of this role are to capture new revenue through key clients who seek to own and operate ultra-fast charging locations.

This includes developing and maintaining critical relationships with property owners, retailers, EV automakers, fueling centers, convenience stores, and gas station stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop proposals, and execute contracts to build out third-party owned ultra-fast public charging infrastructure. Creating mutually beneficial programs that leverage federal grants – such as NEVI funds – will be essential to success in this role. Of additional importance will be relationship building with related industry group associations.

The role will include developing strategies, business models, proposals and contracts with the aforementioned key clients to create partnerships where Electrify America will provide its ultra-fast DC fast charging products and services. This candidate will regularly interact with internal team managers, and directors. The candidate will coordinate with other business development team members to ensure all work is documented and metrics tracked. Of critical importance, the successful candidate will possess strong communication and collaboration skills as well as charisma to overcome natural business obstacles to creating consensus and value chains that bring together diverse stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop new business offerings for key clients, in order to accelerate the deployment of third-party owned Electrify America charging stations.
  • Work with business development team to optimize the utilization of NEVI funds by leveraging partnership opportunities.
  • Secure executed contracts with the targeted customer segment by leading and championing contract negotiations with clients and owning internal management and legal stakeholder buy in and acceptance.
  • Identify, cultivate and manage go-to-market efforts: create term sheets, define program requirements, negotiate agreements, launch programs, ongoing communication, IT and data sharing, metrics development and reporting.

Experience

  • 7 years of relevant experience in fueling, utilities, automotive or infrastructure relationship management.
  • 3-5 years of business development, sales or sales strategy.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • MBA or Master’s Degree (desired).

  • Professional CRM experience in automotive, utilities, or technology (desired).
  • Knowledge of automotive or fueling sales, service and marketing environment (desired).
  • Understanding of the Salesforce product suite (desired).
  • Enthusiasm for an electric future (desired).
  • Experience using project management software like Trello, JIRA and Confluence (desired).
  • Experience in electric vehicle infrastructure industry (desired).
  • Understanding of EV Charging ecosystem (manufacturers, installation companies, utilities and related government agencies) (desired).
  • Experience with federal and state grants (desired).

Work Flexibility

  • Domestic travel is required; estimated at 50-60%.

Salary range is dependent on factors such as geographical differentials, industry-based experience, skills, training, credentials, and other qualifications.

In the state of California, the salary range is $110,300 - $148,900.

In the state of Colorado, the salary range is $110,300 - $148,900.

In the state of Washington, the salary range is $110,300 - $148,900.

In New York City, the salary range is $132,400 - $178,700.

In Westchester County, the salary range is $132,400 - $178,700.

In the state of Rhode Island, the salary range is $110,300 - $148,900.
