We seek skilled and passionate commercial roofing professionals to join our teams.

General Purpose

To apply Mantis survey methodology in facility inspection processes (roof, walls, pavement, energy) for asset management projects. The focus is on commercial roof surveys, with additional duties including pavement, building envelope, and quality assurance inspections.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Inspect and evaluate roof assets under supervision, ensuring accuracy
• Capture survey data with MANTIS tablet technology
• Take clear photos of building features, defects, and perimeter
• Measure perimeters and record GPS data points
• Identify roof assembly, inventory, and defects
• Recognize hazardous conditions
• Remove debris for thorough visual evaluation
• Maintain drainage systems by cleaning drains, scuppers, and gutters
• Reattach and seal loose metal work for water-tightness
• Remove hazardous materials like grease or coolant
• Collect core samples and repair roof holes as needed
• Perform minor repairs to prevent leaks
• Provide inspection-based recommendations
• Cross-train in pavement, building envelope, and energy inspections as needed

Safety

• Follow MANTIS safety standards at all times
• Wear PPE as required (harnesses, helmets, etc.)
• Participate in hazard analysis and safety briefings
• Report incidents and near misses immediately
• Handle materials per SDS instructions

Position Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years in construction/roofing

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 and other safety certifications
• IIBEC RRO certification
• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Roofing Technology Certification

Working Environment & Physical Activities

• Travel up to 80-90%
• Heavy physical work, lifting 50-75 lbs, standing long hours
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Climbing ladders safely daily
• Work in a non-smoking environment
• Extended hours may be required

Cross Training

• Wall Survey: assess wall assets, identify hazards, document conditions
• Pavement Survey: evaluate concrete/asphalt, document defects and hazards

Pay rate: $22 - $30/hour
