Job summary

Tecta America Commercial Roofing in Maryland is seeking a Superintendent to lead and coordinate roofing crews and subcontractors on commercial projects.

The role requires overseeing field operations, reading blueprints, ensuring safety, and meeting project schedules and budgets. Travel to multiple sites is expected; bilingual English/Spanish preferred; this is a salaried OT-exempt position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial roofing experience.
• Experience with multiple roofing systems (single-ply, torch, etc).
• Ability to read blueprints / shop drawings.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to multiple job sites.

Responsibilities

• Supervise commercial roofing crews and subcontractors.

This position involves working with existing supervisors and supervises production crews and subcontractors. This position also is responsible for implementing safety and best practices.

Job Functions

• Manage and supervise commercial roofing crews and subcontractors.
• Read and understand project field manuals of various roofing systems and manufacturers.
• Ensures company safety procedures are implemented and followed.
• Attends and participates in project meetings.
• Establish / maintain lines of communication with external and internal customers (GC's, Building Owners, Owners Representatives, Consultants, Project Managers, Estimators, etc).
• Ensure projects are completed in the most efficient manner to meet project schedules and budgets.
• Ensures customer expectations are met or exceeded.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Requirements)

• 5+ years of Commercial Roofing experience.
• Experience with various Commercial Roofing systems (i.e.- single -ply, torch, hot rubberized asphalt, metal, coatings, etc).
• Strong interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints / shop drawings.
• Ability to multitask on various tasks in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to travel to and manage multiple job sites.
• Computer literate in Outlook and Excel preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Working Conditions

Physical surroundings: Field environment with exposure to heights, noise and temperature. Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold and in windy conditions.
