Job summary

Deer Park Roofing, Inc. seeks a seasoned Superintendent to lead field operations, ensure safety, quality, and on-time project delivery. You will oversee crew scheduling, material usage, and coordination with general contractors and customers, while guiding field staff and maintaining strict adherence to budgets and specifications.

You will monitor progress, document site activities, assist with installation when needed, and support safety programs to keep projects compliant and efficient.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years Commercial Superintendent/Foreman experience.
  • Ability to read manuals and reports; follow safety procedures.
  • English proficiency required; Spanish desired but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead crews to complete work with high quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify issues, evaluate options, and implement solutions with the team.
  • Ensure work meets specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain regular communication with general contractors and customers.
  • Support estimator with information for change orders.
  • Verify materials delivered align with purchase orders.
  • Maintain a two-week material forecast for timely installations.
  • Document progress using field reports and event tracking software.
  • Ensure projects finish on time and within budget.
  • Assist with installation activities when resources are limited.
  • Support safety audits and maintain site safety documentation.
  • Report incidents and near-misses to the Safety Director.
  • Lead toolbox talks and ensure safety training completion.
  • Oversee tools, equipment, and vehicle management.
  • Review timecards weekly and submit to PM.
  • Perform other duties to support project success.

Job description

The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring projects exceed Pittman Waller standards of excellence, are completed on time, within budget, and to customer satisfaction. This includes overseeing crew scheduling, performance, quality, maintaining communication with contractors and customers, managing resources, and ensuring all safety standards are met. The Superintendent is responsible for identifying problems, evaluating options and implementing solutions with support from commercial operations staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead crews to complete assigned work professionally, ensuring excellent quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and resolve issues by evaluating options and implementing collaborative solutions.
  • Ensure all work complies with project specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Communicate regularly with General Contractors and customers, attending job site meetings as required.
  • Support the estimator by providing necessary information for additional work pricing.
  • Verify the accuracy of materials delivered against purchase orders.
  • Maintain a two-week material forecast to ensure timely delivery for installation crews.
  • Document project progress using company software (e.g., field reports, event tracking).
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, leading the field team to achieve project goals.
  • Assist with installation activities when necessary due to resource limitations.
  • Support safety audits and assist the Safety Manager with jobsite safety documentation and compliance.
  • Report incidents, injuries, and near-misses promptly to the Safety Director.
  • Facilitate weekly toolbox talks and ensure completion of safety training for field staff.
  • Ensure proper setup and use of personal protective equipment (PPE), particularly fall protection.
  • Assist in training, developing, and managing field staff, issuing disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Oversee company tools, equipment, and vehicle management.
  • Review and approve crew timecards weekly, submitting them to the Commercial Project Manager.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support project and company success.
Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position requires the employee to communicate orally, use vision to see near and far, use depth perception and hear at a conversational level .

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly carry roofing materials and tools, stoop and bend, twist, squat and kneel, reach for materials, and use hand controls. The employee will frequently be required to push and pull materials when tearing off and installing new roof, climb ladders and scaffolding, and crawl. The employee will occasionally be required to balance, reach above the shoulder, use fine finger manipulation, and use equipment that vibrates.Employee will infrequently be required to lift 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift 50 lbs waist to above the shoulder with machine assistance, use foot controls, and do repetitive motions.

Work Environment:

The employeeisrequired to use fall protection, proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and work in inclement weather conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:5 + years Commercial Superintendent/Foreman experience.

Reasoning Development:Follow all company Health and Safety procedures. Ability to learn the manufacturingflashing details.

Mathematical Development:Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers and use geometry.

Language Development:Ability to read manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures; speak using correct English.Ability to speak and understand Spanish is desired, but not required.

Licensures and Certifications:Valid drivers license is required. OSHA 30 certification is required.

Education:High School diploma or equivalent.
