GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Portfolio Manager is a key member of the "coverage team," managing transactions and business portfolio tasks. PMs are expected to be intimately involved in the deal process, making recommendations on appropriate credit structures, pricing, etc. PMs are directly accountable for managing a portfolio of accounts through their review of updated financial statements, proactive monitoring, and interaction with the Credit Analyst.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensuring that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieve results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Manage a portfolio of accounts.
  2. Review and recommend credit decisions.
  3. Partner with the Relationship Manager, forming the "coverage team."
  4. Meet with clients and participate in business development calls.
  5. Assess prospective client's viability for credit.
  6. Define borrowers and guarantors, deal structure, credit terms and conditions, and financial covenants.
  7. Value collateral.
  8. Contribute to workflow or process change and redesign, and develop a strong understanding of the Credit Lending process.
  9. Focus on execution within the defined credit lending process.
  10. Generate commitment letters.
  11. Perform final risk rating analysis.
  12. Document credit decisions, conditions, and modifications.
  13. Collaborate with the Credit Analyst to perform portfolio management duties.
  14. Establish and maintain Investor Group on lender portal.
  15. Conduct periodic deal reviews and monitor actions.
  16. Execute decisions to renew or modify deals.
  17. Communicate directly with clients regarding credit events and actions as needed.
  18. Independently pitch deal structures.
  19. Maintain a focus on continuous learning to adapt to market dynamics.
  20. Mentor Credit Analysts.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • At least 3 years of credit analysis and/or loan review experience in Commercial Banking.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional presence in client-facing interactions.
  • Ability to collaborate with all deal stakeholders including clients, relationship managers, and credit teams.
  • Expertise in financial and risk analysis, including financial modeling.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with technology and adaptability to new applications.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Normal office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, or temperature extremes.
  • Extended screen time.
  • Some travel required.

Total Base Pay Range: $69,800 - $143,100 USD annually
