Overview

The Portfolio Manager is a key member of the "coverage team," managing transactions and business portfolio tasks. PMs are expected to be involved in the deal process, making recommendations on credit structures, pricing, etc. They are directly responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts through financial statement reviews, proactive monitoring, and interaction with Credit Analysts.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of accounts.
• Review and recommend credit decisions.
• Partner with Relationship Managers as part of the "coverage team."
• Meet with clients and participate in business development calls.
• Assess prospective clients' credit viability.
• Define deal structure, credit terms, conditions, and financial covenants.
• Value collateral.
• Contribute to workflow or process improvements and understand the Credit Lending process.
• Generate commitment letters and perform risk analysis.
• Document credit decisions and modifications.
• Collaborate with Credit Analysts on portfolio management duties.
• Maintain investor relationships on lender portals.
• Monitor deals and conduct periodic reviews.
• Renew or modify deals as needed.
• Communicate with clients regarding credit events.
• Independently pitch deal structures.
• Continuously update market knowledge.
• Mentor Credit Analysts.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
• Minimum 3 years of credit analysis or loan review experience in Commercial Banking.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional presence suitable for client interactions.
