Job summary

Orion Placement in Boston seeks an attorney with 3+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience to lead sophisticated acquisitions, investments, and developments for institutional clients.

You will draft and negotiate purchase agreements, JV agreements, and related documents, manage due diligence, and collaborate with partners across markets, with a flexible hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and transaction-management abilities.
• Experience in a law firm environment, BigLaw preferred.
• Sponsor-side or equity-side CRE experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support complex CRE acquisitions, investments, dispositions, developments, financings, and other sophisticated transactions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, investment documents, leases, and related documents.
• Advise sponsors, investors, developers, and institutions on transaction structures and business considerations.
• Manage due diligence, timelines, negotiations, and closings from start to finish.
• Collaborate with clients and counterparties to develop practical, commercial solutions.
• Work with partners across markets to handle sophisticated transactions and maintain high service standards.

• Work on sophisticated, high-value commercial real estate transactions for institutional investors, developers, private equity firms, investment managers, and entrepreneurial clients.
• Focus on complex sponsor-side and equity-side matters, including acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, development, and ownership structures.
• Enjoy a more sustainable legal practice without a rigid billable-hour requirement. Many associates excel while billing approximately 1,500 hours annually.

Location:

Note:

Candidates must have 3+ years of directly relevant experience handling complex commercial real estate transactions and prior law firm experience. Sponsor-side or equity-side transactional experience is strongly preferred over a primarily lender-side background. BigLaw or strong regional law firm experience is preferred. Relevant in-house candidates are welcome if they also have meaningful prior law firm experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience.
• Meaningful experience with complex commercial real estate acquisitions, investments, development, or similar transactions.
• Prior experience practicing within a law firm environment.
• BigLaw or strong regional law firm experience preferred.
• Sponsor-side or equity-side real estate experience strongly preferred.
• Joint venture drafting and negotiation experience is highly preferred.
• Relevant in-house experience is welcome when combined with prior law firm experience.
• J.D. and active bar membership in good standing.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, communication, and transaction-management skills.
