Job summary

Kelso Industries is seeking a Commercial Purchasing & Operations Manager to oversee purchasing, material coordination, job costing, and project administration for commercial construction. You will partner with Project Managers, field operations, vendors, subcontractors, and accounting to ensure on-time material orders, accurate costing, and complete project documentation.

Base salary ranges from $85,000 to $120,000 with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in purchasing, procurement, or project administration for commercial construction.
• Experience with HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or specialty contracting is a plus.
• Familiarity with purchase orders, job costing, contracts, submittals, and construction documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders for commercial materials and equipment.
• Place equipment and day-to-day material orders and coordinate vendor deliveries.
• Set up commercial projects and maintain required project documentation.
• Review contracts and track change orders and associated costs.
• Maintain accurate commercial job costing and purchasing records.
• Review packing slips and invoices, approve for payment, and track credits and returns.
• Process equipment and material submittals for Project Manager approval.
• Coordinate with the Shop Manager on material and equipment deliveries to job sites.
• Complete project prequalification documents, tax exemption forms, and Certificates of Insurance.
• Maintain subcontractor documentation, including COIs and hold-harmless agreements.
• Assist with permits, drawings, project closeout books, and warranty registrations.
• Maintain employee safety training and certification records.
• Oversee DOT compliance documentation, including driver logs, inspections, and medical cards.
