Job summary

Johnston County Tax Administration seeks a full‑time Tax Appraisal Statistician to lead complex statistical modeling for real property valuations during revaluation years. You will guide the appraisal team, develop market-value projections and ensure compliance with NC tax laws and appraisal standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with real property appraisal and mass appraisal
• Experience developing and validating valuation models using cost, sales comparison/market and income approaches
• Ability to design, test and implement time-based projection models for schedules of value
• Proficiency with statistical software and data analysis in a real estate context

Responsibilities

• Leads the development and implementation of statistical model building
• Manages all aspects of predictive modeling projects
• Provides technical support for users on statistical software and analysis
• Prepares charts, graphs, spreadsheets and maps showing market data
• Develops analytical plans for evaluating market data influence on tax value
• Works with CAMA system to update assessment records and schedules of values
