Job summary

MPI is seeking a Project Manager to lead commercial general contracting projects across multiple sectors in Northeast Ohio. You will own project schedules, budgets, and safety while coordinating with owners, architects, subcontractors, and field teams.

Ground-up and renovation/interior fit-out experience is required, with a collaborative, mentorship-driven culture and opportunities for leadership and career growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager with a commercial general contractor.
• Experience leading ground-up and renovation/interiors.
• Strong estimating, preconstruction, and budgeting experience.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and profitability.
• Experience across sectors including retail, office, healthcare, education, industrial, or mixed-use.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Description

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with field leadership.
• Lead project planning, budgeting, procurement, and execution efforts.
• Prepare and manage project estimates, buyout activities, and subcontractor agreements.
• Monitor project financials, cost forecasting, profitability, and risk management.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
• Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project reporting.
• Conduct regular meetings with clients, project teams, and subcontractor partners.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Travel to project sites as needed throughout the region.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and trade partners.

Profile

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager with a commercial general contractor.
• Experience managing both ground-up and renovation/interior fit-out projects.
• Strong estimating and preconstruction experience.
• Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and profitability.
• Experience across multiple commercial sectors such as retail, office, hospitality, healthcare, education, industrial, or mixed-use construction.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing.
• Experience working directly with owners, architects, subcontractors, and field teams.
• Proficiency with construction management software and project scheduling tools.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to project management.
