Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Commercial Project Manager to co-lead with the Technical Project Manager on Small Gas Turbines projects. You will own budgeting, forecasting revenue/profit/cash, invoicing, and cost control, ensuring GAAP/FRG compliance and robust internal controls in SAP.

You’ll manage contracts, claims, and change orders with international teams to drive financial targets and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial project management.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
• Experience with international projects and intercultural teams in engineering or energy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare commercial documentation for regular project status meetings and ensure data accuracy.
• Forecast revenue, profit, and cash flow; record project books in SAP.
• Initiate invoicing according to progress and manage costs to optimize cash flow.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, FRG guidelines and internal controls.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage project risks and opportunities with the PM.
• Oversee contract administration, claims, and change orders with stakeholders.
• Lead negotiations on contracts, claims, and changes with internal/external teams.
• Manage financial guarantees, bonds, and project securities; ensure timely notifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional/intercultural teams and share lessons learned.

Job description

The Commercial Project Manager is a key organizational role within the Small Gas Turbines Project Management team, co-leading projects alongside the Technical Project Manager. Operating with high financial governance, the CPM takes full responsibility for all commercial, financial, and contractual matters to optimize targeted financial results and ensure execution with due professional care. In this role, the CPM manages the project's financial lifecycle, including budgeting, forecasting (revenue, profit, and cash), risk/opportunity assessment, and cash flow optimization through proactive invoicing and cost management. The position ensures strict compliance with local GAAP, Financial Reporting Guidelines (FRG), and internal controls, while maintaining accurate project books and records within systems like SAP. Collaborating closely with international and intercultural project teams, the CPM handles contract administration, claim management, and change order negotiations. By proactively managing customer expectations and mitigating non-conformance costs, this role plays a vital part in driving operational excellence and supporting the global energy transition.How you'll make a difference

• Initiate invoicing according to project progress and contractual terms, actively managing costs to optimize cash flow
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP requirements, Financial Reporting Guidelines (FRG), and internal controls
• Identify, evaluate, and assess project risks and opportunities in collaboration with the Technical Project Manager
• Proactively manage contract administration and claim management for projects, both upstream and downstream
• Co-lead contract, claim, and change order negotiations with external and internal stakeholders
• Ensure timely contractual notifications are made and manage financial guarantees, bonds, and project securities
• Co-lead projects with the Technical Project Manager to optimize targeted financial results according to PM standards and customer requirements
• Support the identification and minimization of non-conformance costs and establish appropriate reporting structures
• Manage customer expectations collaboratively and support the implementation of lessons learned into the organization
• Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
• Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent commercial PM certification
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial project management, project controlling, or financial management
• Experience working with international projects and intercultural teams within the engineering or energy sector
