Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Project Controller / Commercial Project Manager to oversee all commercial and financial aspects of complex projects in the Gas Services area. You will manage revenue recognition, invoicing, cost calculations, and reporting to ensure contractual compliance and healthy project profitability.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years in finance or project management, with strong GAAP/IFRS knowledge and proficiency in SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance/Business Administration/Accounting is required.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Business administration or in Finance, preferably with experience in Project Management.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS, with proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and analytical tools like Alteryx and Tableau (preferred).
• Ability to optimally communicate financial information to non-financial partners, work in a team-oriented environment, and lead multiple tasks under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to travel approximately 5%.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

• Fully responsible for all commercial and finance-related matters, including Accounting, Legal, Tax, Foreign Exchange, and NCM topics.
• Manage and optimize financial results with due professional care, including revenue, project gross profit, cash flow, assets, and financing instruments.
• Lead all aspects of monthly revenue recognition, contractual invoicing, and ensure compliance with IFRS15, local GAAP, reporting guidelines, and internal controls.
• Prepare commercial documentation for project status meetings, ensuring accuracy in project data, forecasts, cash flow, and financial reporting.
• Ensure accurate cost and pricing calculations, maintain project books and records in systems like SAP, OnePM, and eFMT, and manage financial guarantees, bonds, and securities.
• Support project management in risk assessment, non-conformance cost reduction, reporting structures, and integrating lessons learned into projects and the organization.

A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

Our Gas Service organization is looking for a highly driven, self-motivated Project Controller / Commercial Project Manager to join our team of CPMs. In this role, you will be responsible for all commercial aspects and project financials (controlling, reporting, and forecasting). You will work together with our project management organization with the main objective of completing the projects according to our contractual obligations, project management standards, and applicable financial guidelines.

A strong critical thinking ability and a collaborative approach are critical for success in this role.
