Job summary

ABC Home & Commercial Services in Austin, TX is hiring a Commercial Pool Cleaner. You’ll maintain and service public or multi-family pools with a focus on safety and customer service.

You will handle water chemistry, equipment maintenance, and sanitation to meet health codes. Applicants should have at least 3 years of commercial pool cleaning experience, a valid driver's license, and a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) credential (or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial pool cleaning experience.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license (5+ years).
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) credential required or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to manage 4–7 pools per day.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment.
• Experience with apartment/hotel/water park pools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Balance and test water chemistry daily (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, CYA, calcium hardness).
• Maintain and diagnose heavy-duty pumps, feeders, filters and heaters; perform diagnostics.
• Clean and sanitize pool surfaces and tiles daily.
• Keep precise health and safety logs for inspections.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and customers to deliver excellent service.
• Maintain professionalism and foster positive relationships with customers and colleagues.

First-year Potential: $50k - $60k based on performance

Training Pay: ranging from $20 to $25 per hour, based on experience and certifications.

Schedule:

M - F, with a rotating schedule of two Saturdays* & Sundays* per month

As ABC's Commerical Pool Cleaner, you will perform high-quality pool and spa maintenance with professionalism and excellent customer service. A commercial swimming pool service technician maintains, repairs, and monitors public or multi-family aquatic facilities to ensure strict health and safety compliance.

What You'll Bring:

• Must hold a valid driver's license with an issue date of at least five years prior to the date of this application.
• To apply for this position, we prefer a minimum of 3 years of commercial pool cleaning experience. Candidates with less experience may be considered if they have strong CPO training and relevant commercial pool experience, such as experience with apartment, hotel, water park, swim school, resort porperty, HOA, YMCA or municipal pool.
• Certifications: This position requires a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) credential and at least 1 year of commercial pool maintenance experience in a property such as an apartment, hotel, water park, swim school, resort, HOA, YMCA or municipal pool. Candidates who do not currently hold a CPO credential must be willing and able to obtain the certification.
• Technical Skills: Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, and heavy-duty filtration issues.
• Proficiency with electronic communication and various devices.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors for extended periods, even in extreme temperatures.
• Comfortable and able to manage a workload of 4 - 7 pools per day.

What You'll Do:

• Water Chemistry: Testing and balancing chlorine, pH, alkalinity, CYA, and calcium hardness daily.
• Equipment Maintenance: Servicing heavy-duty commercial pumps, automated chemical feeders, filters, and heaters. Provide comprehensive diagnostic inspections of pumps, filters, and aquatic equipment to anticipate any issues. Calibrate and perform basic maintenance on aquatic equipment to maximize its lifespan.
• Sanitation: Brushing walls, skimming debris, vacuuming basins, and cleaning tile lines daily.
• Health Code Compliance: Maintaining precise daily logs to pass city and county health department inspections.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, CSRs, and customers to deliver exceptional service.
• Always maintain a professional attitude, fostering positive relationships with customers and colleagues alike.
