Qualifications

• 2–3 years of commercial plumbing quoting or estimating experience.
• Familiarity with commercial plumbing fixture brands and specifications (faucets, toilets, fittings).
• Ability to read plans and specifications, complete material take-offs, and manage multiple, time-sensitive quotes.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural and engineering plans, specifications, and addenda for commercial and multifamily construction projects, then build detailed material take-offs (fixtures, fittings, copper piping, and related plumbing products).
• Prepare quotes ranging from smaller, single-item requests to large, complex commercial projects, ensuring pricing, quantities, lead times, and terms are accurate before submission.
• Factor in market conditions such as tariffs and commodity or fuel cost fluctuations when developing competitive, margin-conscious quotes.
• Use the company's ERP and quoting systems, including an AI-assisted quoting tool, to accelerate quote turnaround - while applying subject-matter expertise to catch and correct any system-generated errors or mismatched specifications.
• Work alongside the Manager of Commercial Quotations and one other quotations lead, focusing on higher-volume, multifamily-style quoting while the manager oversees the most technical, specialized accounts.
• Partner with outside sales on project take-offs, bid strategy, and scope clarifications.
• Coordinate with purchasing and vendor contacts to confirm pricing, availability, substitutions, and delivery schedules.
• Gain increasing autonomy over time - as experience builds, you'll take on larger and higher-value quotes with guidance from the Manager along the way.

Our client, a well-established and growing commercial plumbing and mechanical products distributor in the Indianapolis area, is seeking a detail-driven Commercial Quotations Lead. In this hands-on role, you'll prepare accurate, competitive material quotes for commercial and multifamily construction projects, support a small quotations team, and help ensure every bid is priced right and delivered on time.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring

• At least 2-3 years of commercial plumbing quoting or estimating experience


• Product/fixture-specific knowledge is a big plus - familiarity with commercial plumbing fixture brands and specifications (e.g., faucets, toilets, fittings) helps you quote competitively on nuanced bids.


• Demonstrated ability to read plans and specifications, complete material take-offs, and manage multiple, time-sensitive quotes at once.


• Comfort working with ERP/CRM systems and openness to learning new AI-assisted quoting tools.


• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and clear communication.
