Job Overview
Professional level sales position supporting advanced functions on the commercial side of Advance Auto Parts. Responsible for profitable growth of the commercial business through customer retention and growth. Partners with GM to manage team members. Requires expert knowledge of automotive systems and parts, ability to source from multiple sources, and direct drivers for timely delivery. Full-time.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain commercial customer relationships
- Provide GAS2 selling experience to commercial customers
- Achieve personal/store sales goals and service objectives
- Provide day‑to‑day supervisory support for team members
- Collaborate with GM on coaching and development needs for team members
- Dispatch drivers ensuring delivery standards are achieved
- Maintain commercial stocking programs
- Build and maintain a network of second source suppliers
Secondary Responsibilities
- Maintain core bank and commercial returns
- Maintain commercial credit accounts
- Partner with GM to ensure proper driver coverage

Essential Job Skills
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability (internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust, etc.)
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
- Understand and execute written, oral, or diagram instructions
- Successfully complete Parts Knowledge Assessment
- Basic math accuracy (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Use Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong organizational skills
- Understand commercial profitability concepts and customer prioritization
- Work assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
Prior Experience
Minimum 3 years of automotive parts experience preferred. Proven sales ability and experience leading teams, including supervising daily tasks.
Education
High school diploma or GED.
Certification
ASE certification preferred but not required.
Physical Demands
Walking or standing; hand and finger use; lift up to 50 lbs frequently, up to 100 lbs occasionally. Reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl. Close, distance, color, depth vision, ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Mostly indoor, occasional outdoor exposures to weather. Possible exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, chemicals, electrical shock, explosives, vibration. Moderate noise.
