Job summary

Deerwood Bank in Mendota Heights, MN is seeking a full-time Commercial Loan Assistant to support the local lending team with pre-close, close, and post-close tasks. The role involves preparing loan files, coordinating closings, and handling ongoing loan servicing to maintain accurate records.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in commercial lending, strong communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office and SharePoint.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in commercial loan origination or servicing.
• Strong written and oral customer relations skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Responsibilities

• Fund loans, run transactions and pay invoices related to loan closings.
• Track collateral insurance and ticklers.
• Assist in pre-close underwriting tasks (flood searches, title work, lien searches, credit reports).
• Review annual reviews with lenders and credit analyst; enter work requests for evaluations.
• Perform post-close tasks (lien perfection, insurance verification, scanning documents).
• Assemble documents into digital file system (ECM) and save borrowing documents in SharePoint.
• Maintain loan data in Phoenix/ECM with accuracy.
• Prepare loan files and set up ticklers for required information (insurance, financials).
• Prepare loan files for audit selections.
• Administer draw requests, collateral tracking, line advances, or wires.
• Process paid loan files and release collateral.
• Assist other locations with scanning/indexing into digital filing system.
• Research and confirm paid property tax ticklers annually.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
