Job summary

Align Credit Union in Lowell, MA is seeking a Commercial Loan Monitor to oversee daily activity across the loan portfolio, ensuring compliance with covenants and regulations. The role collaborates with Lending Partner and internal teams to review annual updates, flood insurance, HMDA/CRA reporting, and document retention.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in lending, strong analytical skills, and can work in a hybrid model with 1–2 days on site weekly.

Qualifications

• One year to three years of similar or related experience.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across Commercial lending, risk Management, CUSO partners, and other areas of the credit union.
• Knowledge of commercial underwriting, financial statement and tax return analysis, cash flow, global cash flow, debt service coverage, and pro forma analysis.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Commercial Loan portfolio to determine when annual reviews are due.
• Track and follow up on any missing paperwork with members or vendors.
• Provide updates and reporting on delinquent annual reviews and efforts to collect documents.
• Monitor loans located in flood zones or recently remapped; verify coverage and coordinate flood insurance if needed.
• Ensure payments are applied correctly and interest/fees are accurate.
• Assist with data extracts for monthly/quarterly regulatory reporting (HMDA, CRA, LID, call report).
• Attend and take minutes for the monthly MBL Committee.
• Maintain tickers and collaborate with borrowers and lenders for timely updates to monitor covenants.
• Field member communications and escalate complex matters to improve turn times.
• Assist with gathering documents for audits/exams; maintain electronic filing system.
