Job summary

Northern Bank & Trust Company is seeking an Origination Analyst in Massachusetts to assist Loan Officers throughout the loan life cycle, gather credit information, and assess creditworthiness for prospective borrowers. You will analyze opportunities, draft proposals, and ensure accurate documentation and reporting.

The role involves collaboration with the loan team, maintaining records, and updating Salesforce while supporting special projects as needed.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience underwriting commercial loans preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred.
Strong analytical, technical, and statistical skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a team.
Sound knowledge of credit risk, accounting principles, financial statements, and tax returns.
Understanding of the banking industry and the regulatory requirements associated with it.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

Assist the Loan Officer in various phases of the loan life cycle from application to post-closing.
Compile information to evaluate loan opportunities accurately.
Evaluate and present commercial loan opportunities to Loan Officers.
Draft commercial loan proposals and communicate with borrowers and staff.
Work with loan closing team and Bank’s attorney to close loans.
Maintain accurate document management records and manage client documents.
Update reports within Salesforce and review Loan Presentations.
Review and process advance requests.
Monitor borrower performance and perform market analyses to identify trends.
