Job summary

Northwest Federal Credit Union in Herndon, VA seeks a Commercial Loan Operations Specialist to support Business Development and Lending Officers. Responsibilities include handling member inquiries, processing loan documentation, wires, appraisals, and post-closing duties.

Qualified candidates have 3+ years in commercial/SBA lending, familiarity with LaserPro, and strong organizational skills. On-site work with potential remote flexibility; typical workweek 8–5.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in Commercial and/or SBA lending, incl. 1–3 years preparing loan docs.
• On-site work in Herndon, VA with ability to work remotely as needed.
• Must be able to work Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm.
• Experience with LaserPro or related software.
• Experience tracking numerical data and detailed information.
• Strong team collaboration and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide member services and liaison between departments.
• Assist coworkers with member inquiries or problems.
• Ensure prompt and courteous responses to inquiries.
• Process wires, account reviews, and general maintenance.
• Order appraisals, certificates, and reports as needed.
• Prepare and process loan documentation for commercial/real estate loans.
• Coordinate funding with loan servicing and ensure wires/fees are processed.
• Review UCC financing statements; file and terminate as needed.
• Conduct post-closing file reviews and manage documentation.
• Assist renewals up to 60 days from maturity; request financials as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to NWFCU policies and BSA rules.

Job description

The Commercial Loan Operations Specialist will be responsible for providing administrative and member service support to Business Development and Commercial Lending Officers. Provide member support to both existing and prospective members. In addition, preparation and or/review of Commercial Loan documentation, disbursements of loan proceeds, open business and personal accounts and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide member services solutions, act as liaison between departments coordinating member needs
• Provide assistance to co-workers with member inquires or problems
• Ensure prompt and courteous response to customer inquiries
• Send wires, provide account reviews and general maintenance
• Order Appraisals, Environmental, Credit, Flood Certificates, and Title Reports, as needed
• Prepare and process documentation related to new, renewed, and modifications to commercial and real estate loans
• Coordinate with loan serving for funding to ensure all wires, fees, and payments have been processed
• Review, Create, File, and Terminate UCC-1 and UCC-3 Financing Statements
• Follow up to ensure proper recordings of liens and continuations
• Conduct post-closing reviews and file management duties, post-closing file review, tracking, follow-up and exceptions items, maintenance of loan file, and document imaging
• Review and assist in processing renewals no later than 60 days from maturity date. Request from borrower financial statements, tax returns and any other financial as required by the loan documents and credit union
• Perform all other related duties as assigned
• Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years experience in Commercial and/or SBA lending, including 1–3 years of experience preparing commercial loan documentation for both real estate and non-real estate transactions
• Ability to work on-site in our Herndon, VA headquarters and equally effectively remotely
• Ability to work Monday-Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Experience in Laserpro or related software
• Experience tracking numerical data of detailed organizational information
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to perform tasks carefully, accurately, and in accordance with specific instructions
• Ability to use standard office and/or banking equipment and systems; working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Proven experience as a self-starter with strong administrative and organizational skills, and an eagerness to learn
• Strong understanding of loan documentation

Base compensation for this role ranges from $26.89 – $45.74 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications.
