Job summary

Smbonline in Joplin, MO is seeking a Commercial Loan Officer to originate, structure, and service commercial and consumer credits. You will grow the bank’s portfolio by developing new business, calling on clients, and cross-selling products.

The role emphasizes strong credit analysis, disciplined documentation, and effective communication to manage risk and profitability. Onsite work with a Monday–Friday schedule and Saturday rotation is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of sales experience; preferably 2 years of banking experience as well
• Strong credit/industry risk analysis, negotiation, and documentation discipline
• Clear written/verbal communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Ability to work onsite; schedule is Monday–Friday 8:30–5:30 with Saturday rotation 8:30–12:00

Responsibilities

• Developing new business and calling on prospects and existing customers
• Building referral networks and cross-selling bank products/services
• Reviewing portfolio performance to improve profitability
• Partnering with collections on past-due credits and ensuring lending activities comply with laws and regulations
