Southwest Missouri Bank in Joplin, MO, seeks a Commercial Loan Officer (Lender) to originate, structure, underwrite, price, document, and service commercial and consumer credit. You will expand the bank’s portfolio by disciplined sales activities and build strong relationships with prospects and existing customers.

The role requires 3–5 years of sales experience (banking preferred), solid credit analysis, and excellent communication.

The Opportunity

As a performance-driven Commercial Loan Officer (Lender) in Joplin, you will deliver high-impact loan solutions that grow relationships and manage risk. This role exists to originate, structure, underwrite, price, document, and service commercial and consumer credit while expanding the bank’s portfolio through disciplined Sales activity.

Key responsibilities include developing new business, calling on prospects and existing customers, building referral networks, cross-selling applicable bank products/services, reviewing portfolio performance to improve profitability, partnering with collections on past-due credits, and ensuring lending activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Required Qualifications/skills

• 3–5 years of sales experience; preferably 2 years of banking experience as well
• Strong credit/industry risk analysis, negotiation, and documentation discipline
• Clear written/verbal communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Ability to work onsite; schedule is Monday–Friday 8:30–5:30 with Saturday rotation 8:30–12:00
