Job summary

United Community is seeking a Loan Operations Commercial Loan Closer to support the commercial lending process on-site in North Carolina. You will collaborate with Commercial Relationship Managers and Loan Officer Assistants to oversee closings for new, renewed, and modified C&I and CRE loans, ensuring conditions and due diligence are met for document preparation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in financial services, preferably commercial loan experience
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint)
• Knowledge of federal and state banking regulations
• Excellent customer service and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Review approved credit requests to identify pre-close conditions and due diligence needs
• Order and review due diligence items (Title Commitments, UCC searches, Flood determinations, insurance proofs, surveys, real estate appraisals, environmental assessments)
• Monitor and confirm receipt and review of due diligence for accurate loan document creation and lien perfection
• Coordinate with Doc Prep team for closing documentation and with attorneys for closings
• Schedule closing dates with attorneys, title companies, customers, CRM, and LOA
• Review draft closing documents and settlement statements for accuracy and alignment with loan approval
• Provide final clearance to close once conditions are satisfied
• Verify executed documents and forward to Loan Servicing for booking
• Ensure documentation is properly loaded to CreditLens and imaging systems
• Assist with initial disbursement at closing and act as second required signature
• Deliver exceptional service to internal and external clients with urgency and a positive attitude
